Airgas National Welders To Honor Its Military Veterans

Airgas, Inc. (NYSE: ARG) today announced that Airgas National Welders, its regional company serving North Carolina, South Carolina and southern Virginia, would honor its military veterans in the Charlotte, North Carolina area with a day-before Veterans Day brunch. The event will be held at the Renaissance Charlotte Suites Hotel.

"Airgas and Airgas National Welders are very proud of our military-veteran employees and the sacrifices they have made," said Steve Marinelli, Airgas National Welders president. "It is only fitting that we honor them with this brunch and thank them for their dedicated service to our country."

Airgas Names Ellen C. Wolf to Board of Directors

RADNOR, PA – November 11, 2008 – Airgas, Inc. (NYSE: ARG) today announced that its Board of Directors has elected Ellen C. Wolf, senior vice president and chief financial officer of American Water (NYSE: AWK), to fill the vacancy created by the untimely passing of Director William O. Albertini in June, 2008. Wolf has also been appointed to serve as a member of the Audit Committee, replacing W. Thacher Brown, who had been appointed to the Audit Committee in the wake of Albertini’s passing. Wolf’s term begins immediately and will expire at the 2009 Annual Meeting.

Airgas: A Company on Fire - Industrial Stocks

Airgas is the largest distributor of packaged medical, industrial and specialty gases in the country. The company sells over 43 specialty gases from nearly 1,100 retail and service stores nationwide from their base in Radnor, Pennsylvania.

Business couldn't be better - even in this tough economic environment. On October 23, Airgas announced record earnings and strong growth in sales and operating income for its second quarter ending September 20.

As many of you who've been regular Investment U readers know, I'm a big fan of the energy and infrastructure sectors. As we wait for the broader markets to recover, the infrastructure service sector looks like it will be a great place to invest.
